Cardon is pleased to announce that Chuck Kable has joined our team in the capacity of General Counsel.
After graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in economics, Chuck attended Thomas M. Cooley Law
School where he served as associate editor of Cooley's Law Review. After graduating from law school with honors,
Chuck began his career in a private law firm, practicing in one of the most competitive and challenging legal markets in
the United States - the metropolitan Detroit area.
Chuck is a seasoned litigator, who has handled hundreds of lawsuits from start to finish. After honing his skills working for
one of the most successful mid-sized private law firms in Michigan, Chuck accepted a position at State Farm representing the company and its insureds in cases involving subrogation, personal injury, commercial business disputes,
insurance coverage, and fraud. For the past several years, Chuck served as counsel for First Recovery Group where he
advised CFO's and other health plan executives in all aspects of health plan cost containment, including plan language
analysis, as well as third party liability recoveries, and subrogation.
Chuck has handled hundreds of subrogation and third party liability claims on behalf of Medicaid HMO's, Medicare
substitute-HMO's, delegated risk organizations, self-funded ERISA plans, and fully-funded health insurance companies.
He has handled these claims against attorneys, property and casualty insurance companies, workers compensation
insurance companies, hospitals, and other health insurance companies. As a result of his experience, Chuck has
developed a particular specialty in the subrogation and third party liability fields. Chuck has successfully dealt with
arguments ranging from characterization of damages to other attempts to defeat third party liability claims under the
guise of company procedure, or equity. No matter the argument presented, Chuck has the experience and the knowhow
to successfully address these arguments.
