Jon Smelley is the Assistant Vice President of Cardon's SSI. He started with Cardon in 2000 after
completing his tour in the U.S Air Force. Jon is an HFMA member, a 4 year NOSSCR Member (National Organization of
Social Security Claimant's Representatives) and is recognized by the Social Security Administration as one of only
approximately 400 qualified representatives in the country. Jon has personally represented thousands of claimants for
Social Security disability nationwide. He and his disability hearing team have represented thousands of disabled
claimants in court in front of Administrative law Judges.
As Assistant Vice President of SSI Jon is responsible for overseeing Cardon's SSI program, SSI training to company and
hospital staff, Quality assurance, relationships with local and nationwide Social Security Administration and overall
Company SSI operations. Due to Cardon's multi state operations, Jon must also maintain understandings of state and
federal interactions nationwide. Jon also provides SSI presentations and training to our hospital clients when requested.
Jon is a proud veteran of Desert Storm where he served as an Air Force police officer, ground combat unit leader and
honor graduate of his Air base ground defense training unit while simultaneously conducting his undergraduate studies in
business. Jon actively takes part in his local community and his local and state elections.
